KOFFEE / TERMS & COMMUNITY RULES

A warmer table needs good manners.

These terms set the ground rules for Koffee's iPhone public beta. Be genuine, respect other people, share only what is yours, and help keep coffee discovery useful and safe.

Effective 31 July 2026 · Last updated 31 July 2026

These pages describe the public beta as it works today. If Koffee changes how data is used, this notice will change too.

1. Accepting these terms

By creating an account or using Koffee, you agree to these Terms, the Community Rules below and the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service. TestFlight and App Store use is also subject to Apple's applicable terms, including the Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement.

2. Eligibility and accounts

You must be at least 13 and legally able to agree to these Terms. Provide accurate account information, keep sign-in credentials secure and tell Koffee promptly if you believe your account has been compromised. You are responsible for activity performed through your account.

Guest mode is local to one device and does not create a community account. Social posting, following and other member features require registration.

3. Community Rules

Koffee is for coffee experiences, recommendations and respectful conversation. Do not post, upload or encourage:

  • Harassment, bullying, threats, hate speech, discrimination or targeted abuse.
  • Sexual, exploitative, graphically violent, self-harm-promoting or otherwise unsafe material.
  • Spam, scams, deceptive promotion, fake engagement or coordinated manipulation.
  • Impersonation, doxxing, private information, precise home locations or content that endangers another person.
  • Illegal activity, dangerous instructions or content that violates another person's intellectual-property or privacy rights.
  • Automated scraping, security probing, service disruption or attempts to bypass moderation, rate limits or access controls.

Use the in-app report and block controls when something does not belong. For urgent safety concerns, contact the appropriate emergency service first and then email [email protected].

4. Your content

You keep ownership of content you create. You confirm that you have the rights and permissions needed to share it. You give Koffee a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, process and display that content only as needed to operate, secure, moderate and improve Koffee according to your privacy and audience choices.

Private Journal logs are not published to other members. When you publish a post, it may be seen and interacted with by the audience shown in the app. Deleting content or your account removes it from active Koffee services, subject to limited legal, safety and backup retention described in the Privacy Policy.

5. Moderation and enforcement

Koffee may use automated photo screening and human review, investigate reports, remove content, limit features, suspend or close accounts, and preserve evidence where reasonably necessary for safety or legal compliance. Automated screening assists review but does not make legal or similarly significant decisions about you without appropriate human involvement.

Koffee aims to act fairly, but immediate restrictions may be used when content or behaviour presents a credible safety, security or abuse risk. You can question a moderation decision at [email protected].

6. Cafe, map and member information

Cafe names, opening details, addresses, ratings, reviews and map results may come from members or third-party mapping services. They can be incomplete, subjective or out of date. Check important details directly with the cafe before travelling or relying on them. Koffee's nearby-cafe prompt is a convenience, not a guarantee that you are inside a particular venue.

7. The public beta

Koffee is a beta service. Features may change, pause or be removed; maintenance may interrupt access; and feedback may be used to improve the product. Koffee will take reasonable care to protect data and reliability, but you should keep copies of anything you cannot afford to lose.

8. Koffee property

Koffee's name, visual identity, software, interface and original materials belong to Koffee or its licensors. These Terms grant a personal, limited, non-transferable right to use the app; they do not grant rights to copy, sell, reverse engineer or misuse Koffee's technology or brand except where law expressly permits it.

9. Ending use

You may stop using Koffee at any time and can delete your account from Settings → Account Data. Koffee may suspend or terminate access for serious or repeated breaches, security threats, legal requirements or discontinuation of the beta. Provisions that naturally continue after termination, including ownership, licences already needed for lawful processing and limitations of liability, will survive.

10. Disclaimers and responsibility

To the fullest extent allowed by law, Koffee is provided “as is” and “as available” without a promise that every result, cafe detail or community post is accurate or continuously available. Koffee is not responsible for independent cafes, member conduct or third-party services. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded or limits mandatory consumer rights.

11. Law, changes and contact

These Terms are governed by the laws of Ireland, without taking away mandatory consumer protections that apply where you live. Material changes will be dated above and may be announced in the app. Continuing to use Koffee after revised Terms take effect means you accept them.

Questions, reports and support requests can be sent to [email protected].
